Volunteering

Here at Pyareo Home, we encourage community members to join us as volunteers within and without the building. We are always looking for ways to extend choice and enrich the lives of our residents – our volunteers can help us achieve these goals. Volunteers at Pyareo Home help keep our community diverse and resident-focused by enabling us to offer more personalized services.

Volunteers can assist with a singular project or on an ongoing basis, whichever they prefer. Volunteers can become a resident’s buddy, teach a skill, provide a much-appreciated service (like reading aloud), or assist staff with key daily tasks (like transportation).

Examples of some specific opportunities include:

• Resident Companions assist residents in making the best use of their day by providing encouragement, a hand with getting from place to place, or simple conversation.

• Volunteers with pets provide residents with a meaningful opportunity to interact with animals.

• Activity Guides showcase their talents and bring fun to Pyareo Home by leading group activities.

• Volunteer drivers can drive residents to various appointments and events.
